Another axis in the intellectual space

is about to arrive. It has been named Wolfram Alpha and brings in a public automatic question answering machine. The creator, Stephen Wolfram, attempts to convince the audience, that:

1) sometimes you need an answer which cannot be found with Google and the like;

2) answering a question is not always a result of searching a relevant page, yet it is a calculation process.

The tool that has been selected for achieving the goal has 'calculus' as its nature - the well-known package called Mathematica. On top of it, a new science NKS (A New Kind of Science) is applied to perform sophisticated calculations on the way of computing the desired answer.

The public demo is announced for the May of this year and can be checked from http://www.wolframalpha.com/.

Already now it is possible to request an exclusive access for the interested organisations which will be considered important players on the market.

Check out the response of one of the eye-witnesses and the original article by Stephen Wolfram.
