The Switch was planning a marketing campaign which was targeted to wind turbine manufacturers. They did not have enough contact details in-house for the campaign and needed help in gathering contacts globally. As it was considered to be too time consuming to do this work internally, M-Brain (formerly GIA) was commissioned to generate a list of all wind turbine manufacturers, with relevant contact details. In addition to the campaign, customer felt that they could utilize the contact database also in their direct sales efforts by sales personnel contacting the most promising prospects directly.

Utilized existing secondary information in order to identify wind turbine manufacturers globally, with their sales figures and company contact details. In order to gather contact information for purchasing and technical directors in each identified company M-Brain (formerly GIA) used primary research methods and contacted companies switchboards.
Methods: 30% secondary & 70% primary research, contacting 269 companies and gathering 249 relevant contact information
M-Brain (formerly GIA) provided the Switch with a list of identified wind turbine manufacturers with their sales figures (total corporate sales) and company contact details. In addition, the customer was delivered contact information for purchasing and technical directors in each identified company.
